First, turn the original 3 sides into ratios, and simplify them. Then, turn each set of answer into ratios, and if it matches the original ratios, it's the answer.

You see 16ft, 24ft and 28ft from the original boat, right? They can be turned into ratios like this: 16:24:28. If you simplify it by 4 (find the GCD and divide all of them), you get 4:6:7. Any set of answer that yields this ratio is the correct answer.
