Solve –2(x – 6) = –4 x = –1 x = 8 x = 5 x = –8 I keep getting either 4 or -4 but its not an option. What am I doing wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can divide by -2 both sides \[x-6=2\] -/-=+

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 2... Which is still not an option lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you divide both sides by -2 you get (x-6)=2 since -4/-2 = 2 then you add six you get x=8

I see what i did wrong now, I subtracted instead of adding! Thank you!:D
