*I'll give medals and fan* . To go with your new themed border, you decide to also order some hip fabric to re-cover your sofa and cylindrical chair. However, the company will only give you 50 square feet of fabric, so you can't re-cover both of them. Show your work to determine which piece you can cover. Use 3.14 for n. *I chose the cylindrical chair which is below*
we need the specs on the chair and the couch.
Your suppose to only choose only one or the other. I chose the chair which is right here: Your are to tell me the formula for surface area. :)
And how to solve this correctly.. :)
you do not get to choose, it says figure out which one you can cover.
oh ok but we also need to see the couch data
yes
and you cant pick the chair either, we need the one they gave you.
if they did not give you specs on the chair and couch, you cant answer this question
Fine.. hold on.
k
dont fine.. me, if you want to do it wrong we can.

lol
Aha, and here we go THE COUCH =D
so you need the equations for surface area, of a pyramid, box, and a cylinder
I need the formula's for surface area on a cylinder..
ok you are given two shapes, you have enough to cover only one. They want you to figure out the surface area of both shapes and then determine which one you can cover with the minimal amount of fabric you have. Are you assuming its the cylinder or have you done the math and know such?
i have down the math and i feels less smart then before lol because i got lost
I'm not at all at knowing, such. I thought the question was asking me which one I preferred and then solve. @firehead11111 Your not helping, please leave. Or help.
@iAmCool i am doing it so wait
Well, not to be a pity, but this a timed test. -_-
i have a timed test in my other tab and i am still trying to help you so give me a minute
so do you have the equations i talked about?
Do I have the what? I just need to know the forumula for finding surface area on a cylinder, and a cube and rectangular prism?
yep, the couch is made up of a box, and a pyramid...
Yes, I know! So can you tell me how to find the surface area? o_O
so for the rectangle the area is (2*(2*6))+(2*3*2)+(6*3*2) and the area of the pyramid is 2b+2p where b is the area of the base and p is the parameter. so 2(9)+2*2*1.25 add all that up and what do you get? (2*(2*6))+(2*3*2)+(6*3*2) + 2(9)+2*2*1.25
surface area for cylinder 2 π r^2 + 2 π r h can you do this?
It equals 95..
Yes.
That on my calculator gives me 157/5?
|dw:1346966528929:dw|
and you need the surface area for the tube thing on top cylinder part 2 π r^2 + 2 π r h 2 * 3.14*(2.5/2)^2 + 2*3.14*(2.5/2)*3 = 33.36 now add that to the surface area of the tube 2 π r^2 + 2 π r h so 2*pi*(1/2)^2 + 2*pi+(1/2)+4 = 12.35 now add them 33.36+12.35 = ?
@iAmCool ?
My calculator gives me 4571/100?
