What does extraneous solution mean?
I am currently working on absolute values. Also, how to solve lx+5l=3x-7 because I'm new to this.

extraneous solution means the value of x that will make the equation look weird or undefined

for example

|x| = x

x can't be negative. because if you have let's say x = -1

|-1| = -1

this doesn't make sense

so the extraneous solution for this is x<0
