Do the points the coordinate pairs (2,8), (8,8), (8,0), and (2,0) represent the vertices of a square or a rectangle? Explain.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

again use the distance formula. if it is a square all four ditances will be the same. if it is a ractangle you get two repeated distances

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make a graph, put the coordinates in, then draw lines to connect them. Is it a square or a rectangle?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how do you define "help"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make it easier for someone to do something by offering aid.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

we're giving you tips for you to solve the problem. after all is it you who's going to write the test, not us.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

We have no idea how experienced you are, so if you have questions about the guidance, feel free to ask; but please dont belittle those who are willing to help you.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

also, the question is a bit vague to me, since a square is a rectangle, the correct answer regardless would be "a rectangle"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vertices is plural of vertex, or the part where 2 line segments would meet. Simple enough, it's a corner. Just using my imagination it would be a square if you put all the coordinates in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. I already got my answer though. =)

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

it is a rectangle, actually.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

|dw:1346971150515:dw| most squares are not 6x8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah thats what I meant to put.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:) good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) thanks.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

the best of luck
