What is the Law of Syllogism?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In logic, the law of detachment works with the statement "P implies Q". The law basically states that if you know the first part is true (P), then Q must be true. Syllogism works with the statments "P implies Q" and "Q implies R" (notice Q is mentioned twice). If both those statements are true, then the statement "P implies R" is true.

The Law of Syllogism allows you to state a conclusion from two true conditional statements when the conclusion of one statement is the hypothesis of the other statement. Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_law_of_syllogism#ixzz25jtnamAJ it was easy look on google lol
