A well is 10 meters from a frog.The frog covers half a distance in every hop, after how many hops, the frog will reach the well ? the frog covers 5m in 1st hop,2.5 m in 2nd hop and so on.......
Similar to lgba's riddle...
@lgbasallote
infinite
The number of steps can't be determined.
the frog will never reach the wall in same manner the Achilles will never overtake tortoise.
actually...it's already impossible to reach 1/32 of the hop
no ive done it
@hartnn 1) the well is obviously not moving 2) the frog is not a warrior like Achilles 3) It was not stated that Achilles covers half the distance
i think we can safely assume that this is not like the Achilles riddle?
there the start point was fixed, here the end point is fixed. there was no specific ratio like 1/2 here but there is a ratio there , less than 1.... i think these are similar.
*specific ratio like 1/2 there
will reach the wall
to reach the well , the distance between frog and well must be 0 , which will happen only after infinite hops.
i think you should reread my riddle...achilles is not trying to finish the race(nor is he doing half distances)..the main argument is that Achilles will not reach the tortoise. why?
the tortoise is slow but Achilles is fast. yet Achilles will only cover a fraction of the distance between them
