Let A = {red, blue} and let B = {3, 4, 5}. Find A X B.
A X B is the set of all things that look like this (a,b) where 'a' comes from A and 'b' comes from B For example, one such thing that lives in the set A X B is (blue, 4)
Another example: (red, 5)
ok, first lets find out how many elements will be there in AXB if there are 'n' elements in A and 'm' elements in B, then the elements in AXB will be mn. so what will be the number of elements in your final set AXB ?
woahhhhh im got really confused!!!
ok, so there are 2 elements in A, right? and 3 in B what i was saying is that there will be 3*2=6 elements in AXb ok with this ?
lol..i really dont understand ill stop the question..because its to difficult for me ill ask my teacher about that question but thank you anyways! :D
lets begin finding AXB. PICK one element of A , and put it together with element of B say we pick red, then first 3 elements of AXB can be found like this : (red,3),(red,4) and (red,5) ok till here?
Yeah that's probably best, but basically A X B is the set of all ordered pairs or points where the first coordinate comes from A and the second coordinate comes from B
i think she doesn't care anymore.
So... A X B = { (red,3), (red,4), (red,5), (blue,3), (blue,4), (blue,5) } Think of it all the possible ways to make combos with the two sets
