Write a proportion for the following problem. Eric is making a scale drawing of the ground floor of his house. If the scale is 2 in = 5 ft, what number of inches will he use for a length of 55 ft?

what is it

The way I would approach is to see how much bigger his house length is than his scale. So if the house should be 55ft, Divide 55ft. by 5ft. to get 11. The house he wants to scale is 11x bigger than the scale, so then 11 x 2in = 22in!
