Can we PLEASE get some kind of tool for punishing answer givers? It's ridiculous in history, and medals are being awarded for giving the answers and not for those who encourage actual thought.

I agree, I think the lack of peer feedback on answer quality is contributing to a growing quality issue here. For that matter, I would also like to see something similar for questions as way to discourage obvious copy and paste questions from assignments or worksheets.

Thank you for bring this one up. As it stands now, the moderators take a very dark view of people who just give answers. Feel free to report abuse on people who just give answers - it will make straightening these people out that much easier for us! And I personally show some discrimination in the questions I respond to - when the people just post the question but show no effort or interest in the solution, I tend not to help them so readily. That said, if you can think of any further mechanism by which this behavior might be identified and corrected, please let us know. We would be most interested.

me too am not happy with anyone who is interested in getting answer . what a wait of time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've come across those types as well. after investing lengths of time in leading them to the answer, turns out their sole focus was the final answer, not understanding it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@vaidehi09 I'm not even talking about people who post looking for an just an answer without thinking...I'm talking about posters who literally post an answer. Many times the original question will be abcd and the violator will post "b" with no explination. I would have the mods make a button that reports blatant answer violations as a separate offense....and blocks medals from accruing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah yes. that type also exists.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thanks for saying something about thT IT IS VARY ANNOYING
