"He was like a wingspan who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow." Is this a metaphor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would say it is a simile since because it is a comparison using "like"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a simile, but I'm not sure what you mean by wingspan. After 'wingspan,' you wrote 'who.' This makes me think of a living thing. A wingspan is not a living thing. Maybe you should reword the sentence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a simile, but it does not make much sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he was like a bird who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow makes more sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ peeps thanks! I am giving you a medal back!

:D

@erdog82 that was a filter actually.. "wingspan" is a filter for a word that is synonymous to rooster..if you know what i mean
