Can somebody please explain and summarize scientific notation and significant figures to me? And how they relate to each other? And if you can, could you please also provide examples that demonstrate your summaries of it? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!! :)

Sig Figs are basically digits you want to keep. Normally you are going to do this with decimals, so if they ask for 2 sig figs I believe it would be something like 23.53.

So if you're going to do scientific notation.

lets say you have 0.00000002 and want it to be 2. You would need to turn this into a sci notation. you basically take the number and count over until you get to the number you want. I.e., 0.02 = 2.00 x 10^-2 or 2E-2.
