whats a good way to remember how to use the greater than and less than symbols?
> points to the right where on a number line the bigger numbers are.
the bigger number is on the bigger side
Also (I remember this from elementary school), imagine it's a mouth (alligator or Pacman) and it wants to eat the bigger number.
i associate big with big and it stuck
@zzr0ck3r, good one! I don't think I've heard that before.
This is funny, I was just thinking about this the other night, and how my teacher told me the alligator thing in grade school, but I think its much nicer the way I do it. You dont have to remember which way the aligator wants to face... I would get confused and think, why doesnt the alligator not eat the small/young prey.. it seems to be easier.
I use zz's idea |dw:1347059619197:dw|
