When graphing. Is it Y,X or X,Y when calculating the coordinates? example. I have (5,2) on a graph and it is asking what 2 stands for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x,y

mathslover (mathslover):

x,y also these are represented in the brackets: (x,y)

mathslover (mathslover):

\[\large{(x,y)}\]

mathslover (mathslover):

yes that's right (5,2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2 would be Y no matter what?

mathslover (mathslover):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! haha now I see. Thank you for that!

mathslover (mathslover):

y = 2 and x = 5 hence we have (x,y) = (5,2)

mathslover (mathslover):

No problem .... and good work ...
