Usually, an essay has a minimum of 5 paragraphs. Paragraph 1: Introduction: Your thesis should be here. The thesis will answer the "big question" that your paper asks. You also should mention the THREE main points you will be covering. The introduction is a preview of your paper. Tell your readers what they are about to read. Use words like "first, next, then, and lastly" to give a timeline of your paper. ~ example: First, I will explain such-and-such. Next, I will discuss this-and-that. Lastly, I will go over blah-blah-blah. Body Paragraphs: Paragraph 2: Discuss your first main point. Paragraph 3: Discuss your second main point. Paragraph 4: Discuss your third main point. ~ Each of your body paragraphs should cover only ONE main point. Discuss it in its entirety, then move on to another topic and another paragraph. Paragraph 5: Conclusion: You should restate your thesis, here, as well as your three main points. This is a summary of your paper. Tell your readers what they have just read. Lastly, in only one or two sentences, give your statement about the outcome of your research. Good luck!
