We can simply divide to find: \[ \frac{18}{3}=6=\frac{42}{T} \]So, we must divide 42 by 7 to receive 6, thus: \[ T=7 \]
I like cross multiplying. Leaves you with 18T = 126 and you can just divide by 18.
It's more mechanical and easier, haha. But, yes, @smstevns 's response is much better to use, normally, unless you see something that could help or make the problem easier.
