a car accelerates on a horizontal road due to the force exerted by : (a) engine of car (b) driver of car (c) earth (D) road
road
how?
Have you framed the question correctly?
road its a frictional force
There can be multiple answers for this question
its due to combination of force exerted by engine of the car and reaction force exerted by road...
engine exerts force on the road not on the car..
so u mean to say that reaction force wont count ?? but it should count ....
Reaction force exerted by what? yes..car is accelerating or moving by the reaction force exerted by the road on the car only..
basically its the engine that does all the work even though indirectly..the engine transmits power to the wheels through the drive line...now its the wheels that exerts force on the road and reaction force acts on the wheel and since the wheel is connected to the car, the whole system moves...
suppose engine is exerting force on the car...engine is also a part of the car...then by newton's 3rd law..car(excluding engine) will also exert force on the engine..just take an analogy|dw:1347165086979:dw|
