can anyone give me the awnser porvavor? An architect planned to construct two similar stone pyramid structures in a park. The figure below shows the front view of the pyramids in her plan but there is an error in the dimensions Which of the following changes should she make to the dimensions to correct her error? change the length of side AB to 2 feet change the length of side PQ to 8 feet change the length of side AB to 1 feet change the length of side PQ to 4 feet

I would find the ratios of corresponding sides. 2 of the 3 should be the same and the 3rd one is wrong. can you find the ratios?

OpenStudy (phi):

the length of PR divided by the length of AC is one ratio. (that is the ratio of big to small of the "stair" side) find the number do the same for the bottoms: big divided by small and for the 3rd side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo what would the awnseer be ?

OpenStudy (phi):

sooo what would the ratios be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lolo good one you just wont let me take a short cut annd you just give me the awnser hahhaah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be like 7.5 to 2.5?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, but do the division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k so its 3

OpenStudy (phi):

now do the other 2 sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 3

OpenStudy (phi):

so the side with ratio of 2 is wrong. we can make PQ 9 (so 3*3 works) or we can make AB 2 (so 3*2 works)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kkk so what would the awnser be ?:)

OpenStudy (phi):

do you agree the mistake is in the length PQ or AB? (because PQ/AB should = 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (phi):

they give you 4 choices. which will work (give a ratio of 3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c?????????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no no b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i ment a lol sry

OpenStudy (phi):

if AB is 1, PQ should be 3 (PQ/AB =3 if we want it to match the ratio of the other 2 sides) but PQ is 6. I would say no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A den

OpenStudy (phi):

I hope this makes sense. All this work without understanding it would be awful!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh you definetly broke it down for me thxs i get it :)

OpenStudy (phi):

Good. You seem smart (though possibly(?) lazy)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lmao you know me all too well, i have of bad habbit of being lazy :/
