-2x+5y=15 This is what I think it might be Y=3? No idea (7.5) X=?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what's the exact question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Graph the linear equation by solving for y first

OpenStudy (agent47):

you can't solve for y as a constant, but you can in terms of x

OpenStudy (agent47):

do the following: add 2x to both divide both by 5

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

y = 3 is given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just thought

OpenStudy (agent47):

ok... then look at my solution

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if you're going to think of numbers, might as well the easy ones like -1,0 and 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can graph the equation by finding 'Y-INTERCEPT' first, in that case,u are correct to get y=3and the point is (0,3).identify it in the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would x be ?,0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find 'Y-INTERCEPT' ,yup x=0 point =(0,3) , spot it in graph. to find 'X-INTERCEPT' ,y=0, point =(-7.5,0) , spot it in graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then just join these 2 points ,using a straight line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph wont let me use 1/2s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats 1/2s ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only can graph whole numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okk,so lets take y=1, what value of x u get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x=10 so x=-5 ok? point(-5,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get it @srbbw44 ?
