Factor: 16a^2-49b^4

OpenStudy (agent47):

this is the form of x^2-y^2=(x-y)(x+y) where x = 4a and y = 7b^2

OpenStudy (agent47):

(x-y)=(4a-7b^2) (x+y)=(4a+7b^2)

OpenStudy (agent47):

come on, you can do eeeeeeeeeettttttttt!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you factor out 2ab^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Agent47? im not understanding it.

OpenStudy (agent47):

uhm no, you don't factor out anything..

OpenStudy (agent47):

16a^2-49b^4=(4a)^2-(7b^2)^2= (4a-7b^2)(4a+7b^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mberdeja501 since 16 = 4² => 16a² = (4a)² 49 = 7² => 49b^4 = (7b²)²
