PLEASE HELP??? :\ - Which of the following points lie in the solution set to the following system of inequalities? y > -3x + 3 y > x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2, -5) (-2, 5) (2, 5) (-2, -5)

Please help? :S

The most straightforward way to go about this would be substituting each point in to the system and checking if it gives a correct result in BOTH inequalities. Ex) (2, -5): -5 > -3(2) + 3 -5 > -6 + 3 -5 > -3 not true! So, (2, -5) is not in the solution set. We test the other three points in the same way.

:O I get it! Thanks so much!! :)
