A student scored 82 on an exam containing 100 problems. He tried to solve all the problems. His score was figured by subtracting two times the number of wrong answers from the number of correct answers. How many problems did he answer correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w = 100 - c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-> (100 -w) - 2w = 82

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer bank says 94.

You need to solve the equation yourself, as I already set it up!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! It makes sense now. I had trouble with how to set up the problem. Thank you thankyou!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you got correct answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I solved the equation for w then plugged it back into 100-w and got 94.
