Two congruent square flower beds are to be formed in opposite corners of a backyard using 120 feet of lumber. What is the area of each bed? I don't know where to start because I feel that this question has too little information. Help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First off, you know they're squares so that gives out a lot. Next, you have two CONGRUENT so you know that each will use 60 feet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I got that part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, 30 x 30 = 900?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about the part where it says it uses 120 feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well 60 feet gives 900 in area...

I figured it out : ) 60 feet for two congruent beds. 15X15 in length. Therefore 15(15)=225 sq ft Am I correct?
