what are different types of plagiarism and the consequenses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is only one type of plagiarism: the type where you use someone else's words or ideas as your own, without giving due credit. This link will tell you what the consequences can be: http://www.ehow.com/list_5970455_consequences-plagiarism_.html

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

the types of plagiarism are: full plagiarism - this is when you copy the whole thing word for word, without paraphrasing, then fail to cite the sources partial plagiarism is when you copy part of one source (word for word) then copy another part of a different source (word for word) then combine them, then fail to cite the sources. minimalistic plagiarism is when a person copies the whole thing, then paraphrases it, but the flow of the content is still the same as the original, then fail to cite sources. Source plagiarism happens when a person fails to cite the right source. For example, you use an article as your source, and cited the author of that article. However, if that author cited another author, you should cite the original author. Self-plagiarism is when you copy your own work, then fail to cite sources. However, it may be not considered as plagiarism http://www.buzzle.com/articles/different-types-of-plagiarism.html as for the consequences, if you're a college student, you automatically fail that subject, then you will be sent to the disciplinary office to be given further punishments. If you're a PhD, your license will be revoked. If you're a high school student, you'll get a stern talk from your homeroom teacher.
