Prove 2^n-1 = a_(n-1)+n

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

n is natural?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

and are you doing induction in class?

OpenStudy (helpmeplzz):

@zzr0ck3r yes

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

what is a_(n-1)+n?

OpenStudy (helpmeplzz):

(n-1)(n-1+1)n @zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

im confused, why would anyone write it like that -1+1 post the entire question as it was given to you.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

this is all = n^3-n^2

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

and when n = 1on th LHS you have 2^1-1 = 1 and on the right hand side 1-1 = 0 so this is not true for all n
