1. Glycine is the simplest of the amino acids. Treat the amine and carboxylic acid functional groups as independent functional groups. Using pKa values from Table 1.8 in the book (or the pKa supplement) estimate: A. The fraction of the carboxylic acid group (CO2H) that is ionized at pH = 7. B. The fraction of the amine functional group that is protonated at pH = 7. Please show your work. If you use scientific notation, remember to use only integer exponents. Your answer must be within a factor of 5 of the correct value to receive credit.
