solve and write the solution in interval notation: |5-b|+4 <9
Start with moving 4 to the right:
and then???
how do you write that in interval notation
@mathprob you need to solve for x, BEFORE putting the result into interval notation!
i got zero, i think its wrong
If you want me to check how you're wrong, then please post your working steps here!
|5-b|+4<9 |5-b|<5 -b<0
In order to remove the absolute sign, you need to divide into 2 cases!
First case with the positive value: 5-b < 5 -> 5 -5 < b Thus b > 0
Second case with negative value: 5 - b > -5 -> 5 +5 > b Thus b < 10
Questions?
Then put the results together: Domain is all value of x such that x ε ( 0, 10)
I mean, all value of b such that b ε ( 0, 10)
ok thank you
