OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with moving 4 to the right:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you write that in interval notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathprob you need to solve for x, BEFORE putting the result into interval notation!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got zero, i think its wrong

|5-b|+4<9 |5-b|<5 -b<0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order to remove the absolute sign, you need to divide into 2 cases!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First case with the positive value: 5-b < 5 -> 5 -5 < b Thus b > 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Second case with negative value: 5 - b > -5 -> 5 +5 > b Thus b < 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then put the results together: Domain is all value of x such that x ε ( 0, 10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean, all value of b such that b ε ( 0, 10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you
