OpenStudy (datanewb):

In the assignments, when a question references a number, where can that reference be found? Example and link below...

OpenStudy (datanewb):

2A-8 Find the quadratic approximation to 1/(1−x), for x ≈ 1/2 . (Either use (13), or put x = 21 + h and use the basic approximations.) In these exercises: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01sc-single-variable-calculus-fall-2010/part-a-approximation-and-curve-sketching/problem-set-3/MIT18_01SC_pset2prb.pdf on question 2 A-8, they reference (13)... Where is 13? Is it in the lecture notes?

OpenStudy (chalisc):

I could be wrong but if you check this link out. I think it is what you are looking for. The link is from the 2006 course. It is the course reader notes. http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/readings/a_approximations.pdf

OpenStudy (datanewb):

Thank you! The notes from the 2006 course appear to correspond better with the assignments from 2010... I just wanted to make sure there was nothing obvious I was missing. I appreciate the help, and hopefully I'll be able to return the favor sometime in the future.
