How is an object moved in programs that produce 3D graphics?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to realize that computers can only generate 2-D images that appear 3-D and how you could graph a 3-d object so it appears 2-d depends on the program you are using

essentially moving a 3-D object on a computer is the same as having 2 frames of a 2D image of a 3D object if you're familiar with gifs, think of it like that

alright thanks

if youre interested in modern practices, first people draw the object they want to animate they make a 3-d model using a program (maya, autodesk, etc) then make the object move what the computer will then do, is "render" essentially its taking pictures at fixed intervals of the 3D object that you're animating
