Calc 3: Let u= <2,1>, v=<3,-1> and w=<2,4>. Find a and b if au - bv = 2w. If someone could explain to me how to do this, that would be great b/c I've been stumped on this one.

So that would mean then that <2,1> = <x,y> ?
I believe the numbers in < > are the vector components and the variables are the vectors
