You destroy the screen's ability to make a picture. A firend of the family had a 5 year old who had a magnet that he rubbed on their new CRT TV and it killed the screen

The CRT TV uses a form of electromagnetic radiation to create the picture using blue, red and green. When a magnet, which typically has a permanent magnetic field, is exposed to the screen, it distorts the flow of electrons that create color and cause them to damage the containment areas that allow them to make pictures.

In short, your putting a weaker magnet against a stronger magnet and f***ing up your screen.
