Hi all, just a note to let you know a small group of testers is beginning to try out the Mechanical MOOC class (http://mechanicalmooc.org) using this study group. They are studying the materials from 6.189 just as you are, so feel free to answer their questions, ask them your own, etc. Just wanted you to know in case you saw references to the class. Let me know if you want more information about the test round of the course.
I am trying it out, anyone get Code Academy to work? (Also Code Academy is based on 2.7 which I think is the right way to go even though the MIT stuff says 2.6)
Hi, we've been using the Codecademy exercises successfully, but if you are experiencing difficulties, please let the Codecademy team know via the Q&A forum attached to each exercise. And you are correct. Codecademy is based on 2.7, and the MIT materials 2.6 (for historical reasons).
OK, I got Codecademy to work (javascript problem).
Grr...CodeAcademy Got to 3) Conditionals and Control Flow The exercises will not run/validate (Tried 4) Functions, didn't work either) If you try to post a complaint (there are a lot posted already), they are moderating it out presumably on the grounds that they are looking at it but they have been saying that for more than a month now. It seems these people are not reliable.
Good to know. Hopefully they will fix soon. I think I hit a similar issue at one point and switched browsers.
I tried 4 browsers, didn't work in any of them (same for other people as well).
I pinged the Codecademy team and they are looking at it.
Great, I will give it another go tomorrow:-)
Today, it seems to be working (it is as if there is a delay in sending the code to somewhere and getting it back again if you see what I mean. I will let you know if there is any more problems.
Thanks. Do keep me posted.
