You can find the answer to this on Wikipedia or pretty much any textbook... so I'm going to give you a different piece of information: fungi have more in common with us (and other animals) than they do with plants. If you look at how the different groups are related, fungi and animals are pretty close, whereas plants are in a whole other section of the tree of life.
