17=p-3-3p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we just need to isolate p by itself. and on an equation what you do to one side you have to do to the other. so the first step would be to add the 3 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep so what do we have now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i added 3+17 i got 20 , Im confused after that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

youll have 20=p-3p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the -3+3 just cancel out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Then do you divide 3 both sides ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well not yet whats 1p-3p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2p.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct so we now have 20=-2p now just divide both sides by -2 so we can get p by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P=-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thankss
