64=8(r+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, distribute the 8 to (r+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Confused ? How

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply each term in (r+2) by 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8(R)+8(2)=64 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

Then Multiply ,

What you should have now is 8r+16=64 if so, then subtract 16 from both sides.

OpenStudy (markrijckenberg):

I think it is more elegant to divide the left and right side of the equation by 8. Much easier. That leaves us with 8=r+2 => r = 8-2 =6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

R=6 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (markrijckenberg):

That is what I just wrote, yes.
