Find the exact solution ( I keep getting the wrong answer apparently): 4 ln (4x+8)=18. I divide by 4 so : ln(4x+8) = 18/4 then I do, e^(18/4) = 4x +8 and then well I just solve for x which gives me 20.5. However I am doing something wrong which I don't know where :/

so far, your procedure is correct..... in the end, what is the expression you entered for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your work looks correct to me, maybe try carrying out a few more decimal places.

It says do not give a decimal approximation ( its on an online website for review because I just started cal 1 ) but i entered 20.5, 20 and 21 . Time to ask the teacher. God i hate technology.thank you guys though

\(\large x=\frac{e^{9/2}-8}{4} \) that should be the expression....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhhhh Thats what it meant. I'm sorry. Haven't done that in over a year. Thank you

yw... yeah... exact form means to write it out without using your calculator's decimal approximation......
