Coluld you please show me how to sold these problems?
where are you confused?
I just dont even know were to start :/ i know i have to factor but were do i go next?
well we're trying to solve for one of the variables here right? so the equation would be set equal to zero.
Lets take a look at the first problem in that list. Is there away you could simplify it? If so, what would that be?
Well it would abvousely be \[\frac{ 3x-10 }{ 9 }\] then what would i do
we would set this equal to zero and then begin to get 'x' by itself.
Yes, i kind of stepped ahead there.
Sorry about that
It's okay. \[\huge {3x - 10 \over 9} = 0\] \[\huge \not 9 * {3x - 10 \over \not 9} = 0 * 9\] \[\huge 3x -10 = 0\] Does this help so far?? Can you finish the rest?
Isnt that soppost to be all over 9?
well on the LHS, multiplying by 9, divides the 9 out from the bottom. and then 0*9 is =0. Remember, what you do on one side of the equation you must do on the other. Since we are dividing by 9, the only way to "move it over" is to multiply by it. Similarly, when wanting to move the -10 over, you'll add it to both sides. Does that make sense?
