hi, knowing that the marching army has 1000 meter in distance, you need to calculate the courier and the marching armies velocity or speed going to 10,000 meter,(try 100 meter per minute)..once you know their speed, when the courier is going back, his velocity and the armies velocity added up,then  here you can get the distance plus the 10,000 meters.......
