hartnn (hartnn):
yup correct :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
awesome thx i am taking this rediculously confuzing algebra test and i am terrible at math but if i can pass it with a high school (its online) then i can get exempted out of a ton of work lol i could do well i just suck when it comes to the processes of how to solve a problem ya know
hartnn (hartnn):
don't worry, math only needs practice.
practice well and u will be good to go :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so when the problem is (3x^2y - x^2y) i am just confuzed cause besides the two i dont see what i can subtract to get an answer

hartnn (hartnn):
it will be \(\huge (3-1)x^2y= 2x^2y\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
where did you get the one from ?
hartnn (hartnn):
\(\huge x^2y=1x^2y\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so when there is not a number at the beginning you just assume one in most cases
OpenStudy (anonymous):
let you factor out x^2y then (3-1)x^2y = 2x^2y
