XYZ is a triangle with side lengths in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4. The perimeter of XYZ is 27 yards. Find the length of the shortest side.

2k+3k+4k=27 how much is 2k

as they are in the ratio of 2:3:4 so let their side be 2x 3x and 4x as perimeter is sum of all sides of a triangle therefore 2x+3x+4x=27 9x=27 x=3 the shortest side would obviously be 2x so length of the shortest side = 2x = 6 yards
