How does a stop sign have parallel and pependicular lines ? I know that the parallel lines on a stop sign are parallel because the lines are across from each other.

What about the lines that are perpendicular?|dw:1347379220681:dw|

You're right about the parallel lines. A side will be parallel to its opposite side. For perpendicular think of the top side and the left or right side.
