Look at the two triangular sign boards below. Which pair of equations is correct? x = 4 and y = 20 x = 14 and y =14 x = 78 and y = 54 x = 8 and y = 14

OpenStudy (markrijckenberg):

I think you need to turn the first triangle 180 degrees so that the first triangle correctly overlaps the second triangle. Then solve x and y separately.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain with answer plz

OpenStudy (markrijckenberg):

After turning the first triangle 180 degrees: 6x + 30 = 78 => 6x = 48 => x = 8 Same procedure for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so whats my answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are those triangles congruent?

OpenStudy (markrijckenberg):

Take a closer look. I already gave you the answer. There is only one answer in the list where x=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then, simply set up your equations (4y-2) = 54, (6x+30) = 78,

okay yaya got it right thanks :)
