12x-3x+11>4x-(17-9x) Step1-Simplify 12x-3x+11>4x-17+9x (If there is a negative before a set of numbers in parentheses reverse the symbols and add) Step 2-Add all x's together 9x+11>13x-17 Step 3-Add 17 to each side 9x+28>13x Step 4-Subtract 9x from both sides 4x<28 (same as the previous equation) Step 5-Divide both sides by 4 Solution: x<7 It's pretty simple. In Algebra whatever you do to one side do to the other.
