Which of the following statements is true? A. Science has a generally accepted theory for how the universe began. B. Science has no generally accepted theory for how the universe began. C. Science has a theory for the beginning of the universe, but it lacks scientific evidence. D. Science is unconcerned with how the universe began.
I believe the answer is B
The Big Bang theory is pretty widely-accepted, I think, though there are other theories too.
Yes but SCIENCE has not proved it yet, so they won't basically accept it. That's why its called a theory. Derp
Please dont argue... i have another question so I got to close this one
It's pretty hard to prove ANYTHING in science: all you can do is gather enough evidence that you can say something is PROBABLY true... at least until someone finds new evidence that doesn't fit the theory. In the case of the Big Bang theory, there is some evidence in the form of a universe that appears to be expanding, for example.
Sorry bout that, I wasnt trying to argue, just inform lol
Ok
I hate science I like math better :)
As was I. If you think scientific theories need absolute proof to be accepted, well... that's not something that's ever going to be available in the case of the origin of the universe, because it's not like we can go back and watch what happened. A widely-accepted theory in this case is one that has a lot of evidence behind it... and as far as I know, the Big Bang theory is the one with the most evidence to back it up.
