The first step is move the rhs to the left, so you are comparing to zero: \[ \frac{ x+1 }{ x+2}-\frac{ x-3 }{ x+4 }>0\] find a common denominator and combine the terms. then test for : both top and bottom are postive and both top and bottom are negative.
