???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 1+/-sqrt17 all over -2

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

multiply through by the lcm x(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i did that

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

2x + (x-2) = 3x^2 - 6x 3x^2 -9x + 2 = 0 right

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not 2x^2?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

oh - i might have got it wrong.... - i need too go back to school - you r right

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

so that x^2 - 7x + 2 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2 i think

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

2x^2 + (x-2) = 3x^2 - 6x 2x^2 + x - 2 = 3x^2 - 6 x 0 = 3x^2 - 2x^2 - 6x - x + 2 0 = x^2 - 7x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the same thing at the end i got 1+/-sqrt of 41 all over -2

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ok so using the above we get [7 +/- sqrt(49-8) ] / 2 = [7 +/- sqrt 41] / 2

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

how did you get 1 instead of 7 eli?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i got confused

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

its ok

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

you get the idea ok - gotta go - good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
