Start by clearing the fractions by mulyiplying by teh denominators lowest common denominator which in this case is 4
Or you could just multiply everything for 2x, that already isolates x.
I think the problem is: (1/2) x + (1/4) x = 16. Begin by multiplying each member of the equation by 4.
