3x^2+24x=0 helpppppppppp

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

What are you suppose to be doing? It looks like everything is in check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know how to solve for x butttttt that x^2 is confusing me

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

first...factor out x...what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24x (6,4)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what happened?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i factor 3x^2????

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

i dont think you can factor that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for X 3x^2+24X=0 ???

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Wait a sec...... 3x^2 and 24x The greatest common factor would be 3x. factor out 3x from the equation:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IM NOT DOING FACTORS … I'm trying to solve for x

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Ok i just searched and this is what this guy did Subtract 24x from each side to get 3x^2 = -24x Divide both sides by x to get 3x=-24 Divide both sides by 3 to get x = -8 if this doesn't help then i don't know what else to tell you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOUUUUUUU ! :))))))

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Lol dont underestimate the power of Google.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u helppp me again real quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):
