first, add 13 and 42 together and it will look like this. 55 + 8x = 7
then subtract 55 to the other side and it will look like this 8x + 48
negative 48. my bad
8x = -48
lastly divide -48 by the 8 and u will get this x = -6

how do i check -3-6x=9 ?
add -3 to the other side of the equation. it would look like -6x=6 so then u would divide both numbers by -6 and get x=-1
