How do I start solving this? x^3-3x^2-3x+9=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can guess numbers that might work. they would have to divide 9, so your choices are \(\pm1,\pm3,\pm9\) although it need not be a rational number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is very hard to solve a cubit equation in general, as the solutions need not be nice integers, they could be cube roots, square roots etc if i was going to do this i would cheat

*cubic

if you want a hint, try \(x=3\) then factor out \(x-3\) and then the other two will be easy to find
